Circumcision

I’m giving birth to my son in January and planning on getting him circumcised. Does anyone here have experience with the aftercare and healing process. I’m so scared that he will be in so much pain for days/weeks 🥺

Gets lots of Vaseline. You’ll want to put Vaseline on it so the diaper doesn’t stick to it.

I had the same fears but honestly they’re not. He’s cried more for his bottle than he did during and after 😂 healed super quick just lots of Vaseline x

For the first 4 or so days we made like a Vaseline and gauze sandwich around his penis to keep it from sticking. After that we just put lots of Vaseline around where the cut happens. After about a month I think we stopped the Vaseline and just made sure to keep it clean with every diaper change. It looked angry and red for the first little bit but it never seemed to bother him!

@Jean how did you clean it ?

Hope all goes well! It is also very easy to keep an uncircumcised private clean. I didn’t circumcise my baby if you have any questions msg me!💕

@Amelia loool facts

It’s not as bad as we think it is, you will get the hang of it and won’t be scared/worried after the first day

2 of my sons are. It didn't even bother them after it was done. They didn't show any signs of discomfort nor pain. I put Vaseline on them after every diaper change.

my son is circumcised. it went smoothly. we was fussy during diaper changes. just really layer on vaseline. like a ton of it. it keeps it moisturized and from sticking to the diaper. it heals very quick too. our sons was healed by a week. we never did the gauze method. the pediatrician at the hospital said that it’s more prone to stick that way. so we just would squirt it out of the tube and put the diaper on over that. then once it’s healed you just pull the skin back and clean around the head of his penis. you can do it in the bath or during a diaper change

Mine was circumcised on day two of life and other than Vaseline it was easy. He was a great baby and didn’t act like it bothered him at all.

Do it as early as possible, plenty Vaseline.

Lots of Vaseline and gauze, and make sure you keep up with pulling the skin away from the tip. My pediatrician said to do it every diaper change for at least a year, but I don't know what everybody else's doctor has said.

Our dr told us not to put anything on it. No vas or anything he cried for two seconds while they were doing it. They give them sugar water to calm them before. I gave Tylenol in the car before we left and just stayed consistent with it. Dab it with wipes when changing him. Then like 1 week later I went to change him and the ring wrap they put on him just popped off straight in the air on its own. He wasn’t in any pain before or after<3 but lemme tell youuu I was soo worried about it but I had no reason to be☺️

Once the ring is off I was just gentle with him in case it was raw but he was grabbing it himself and trying to take it off lol so I don’t think it hurts that bad when you keep up with baby Tylenol 🥰

Both my boys healed quickly withing 5 days. I did it when they were a week old Literally cried for 2 seconds once I picked them up they were perfectly fine We used olive oil x
