accidentally gave water to my infant

my son is almost 3 weeks old. it was dark and super early and i prepared my son a bottle, i know for a fact that i put two scoops of formula in the bottle. after drinking one ounce he was screaming crying and we couldn’t figure out what’s wrong. when i turned on the light i realized the bottle had nothing but water in it. idk if i was just sleep deprived and the scooper was upside down and it didn’t actually catch the formula or what. I know you can’t give infants water, is it a concern or is he gonna be okay? i’m kinda freaking out and feel like such a horrible mom😭😭

I’d hate to admit but I’ve done this also he was fine after try not to stress if you notice he starts acting werid or anything I say take him to get checked out but my son was fine he was two weeks old when I did the same thing he’s 1 month now

One ounce one time isn't going to harm him. If you don't have already I would get one of these dispensers! https://amzn.to/41x1XIM Every night before bed I prefill bottles with water and pre load this guy then when bub is hungry I just pour in, mix, and warm and I know everything is measured out right now matter how tired I am!

I’d call the doc and ask to be safe. Then you know. And then let it go. Man this sleep deprivation is REAL.
