@Eve ahhh interesting!! I was looking at both of those things today. Wondered how worth it they are. I know I really just need to stop overthinking it and “have a better go” at it 😂

I’m having my husband do it for me which is so awkward lol I didn’t do it with my first and tore. Hoping I won’t tear this time!
ive had my baby but i hated it. i found it more uncomfortable than the ECV was awful it just never got any easier
I’ve tried a few times, it doesn’t hurt but I’m finding it difficult to reach even with one leg on the toilet. I had ordered the Perimom and the Aniball, but sent the Perimom back as I didn’t think I needed both. But the Aniball is only recommended from 37 weeks, so wondering if I should order the fridamom? Where did you get it from? I don’t see it on Amazon UK
I naively thought it might feel quite nice and perhaps even sexy 😂 I’ll look into the aniball and the Fridamom too, sounds like they might have a good affect for after birth too. Thanks everyone so far for your input.
I’ve got the perimom and after using it for a week and a half I finally feel like I’m starting to relax into it! I put a hipnobirthing track on and practice hyprnobirthing breathing techniques while I’m using it which I think helps.
@Laurel id love to know a bit more about hypnobirthing and your experience if you don’t mind sharing ?
I hate it too. It makes me feel weird and a bit queasy 🤣
I use the my expert midwife oil and it’s ok, first time felt a bit burny but I’ve kept it up. I listen to affirmations and practice breathing when doing it and it’s over quickly, it’s hurting my wrists now though as I’ve got carpal tunnel. The joys of the third trimester!
@Erin 🖤 the one I’ve been doing is called Birth Box by @popthatmama on Instagram. It definitely helps me get in a calmer headspace!
I started at the beginning of the week so not done it loads but my wife is doing it for me. I do find it stings/is slightly uncomfortable but I’m determined to persevere as I’m a bit worried about how little pressure she uses before it gets uncomfortable - hopefully we’ll be able to work up to more pressure and it will stretch. My midwife told me that sometimes women in same-sex couples can have worse tearing because they have less regular penetration as part of sex (more options I guess lol) so I really don’t want to tear - will defo keep going with the massage. We’re using a perineal oil from Lasinoh to help.
I use the perineal oil from My Expert Midwife and my husband does it for me - I’ve noticed it definitely has got easier as we’ve done it more. I started at 35 weeks and I’m now 38+2 so I would definitely say keep it up. Breathing through it (if you’ve done hypnobirthing, use the 4-8 breathing if it works for you!) and actually just talking to my husband distracts from the ‘pain’. Sometimes it hurts more and I realise I am tensing but I’m getting much better now at releasing the tension. I would say both from my perspective and his we feel like it is beneficial - no idea if it will help in the end but it’s making me feel like I can at least try pushing the baby out 🤣
Wonder if you could reuse the perimom as a shoe horn after 😂

@Tara hahhaahahahah I’m dead
@Tara hahaha love this
For any mums using the aniball have you run it by your midwives? I asked mine and she said she wouldn't recommend as it's best to use hands for massage plus the risks of infection if it's not 100% disinfected right. If anyone has used it how easy has it been and what's been your experience?
Following as I’d like to know xx
