How to make quicker bottles

How is everyone making up bottles quickly? My little girl is formula fed (Kendamil) and we make up as the instructions suggest but we are just now starting to let her wake us at night when she is hungry but she wakes up like I want food NOW and we have to soothe her for half an hour before actually being able to feed her. Has anyone found any ways to do it a bit quicker? Would also appreciate the extra sleep 🤣 preferably without buying any rapid cool products or such like.

Pre make bottles 😇. We have about 4/5 in the fridge at one time so just need to heat them up. As long as they’re used within 24 hours from making them it’s fine x

I use the fridge method, although not endorsed by NHS. I make 3 up at a time and store in the fridge and just reheat. There is a group on Facebook called Kendamums. Saved my bacon!

@Amelia oh really? I didn't think you could do this! I really hope so as that would make life SO much easier x

My HV and midwife said to do it, I know others say you shouldn’t. But everyone I know and everyone in my baby group on here does it. He’s never had any issues and he’s 5 months now x

@Rochene this sounds like a dream but stumbled upon the NHS advice before and assumed it was a big no no! Maybe there is hope 🤔x

May be seen to be controversial but I make up 4/5 bottles in the morning with boiled water and take out pots with formula. Cooled boiled water in the bottle is fine to use for 24 hours. Mix when it's feed time. I know its not 100% to guidelines on the tin (mixing formula with 'at least' water at 70) but I got this advice when talking to lots of other Mums becsuse waiting half hour at night feeds for the water to cool or using the rapid cool just took too long stretching out feeds. My baby boy is thriving in weight gain and had no problems at all. This works for me as he's not fussy whatsoever about taking cold or room temperature milk so may not work if baby only wants warm. 🙃 Each to their own

Throughout the day I keep a bottle of cooled boiled water. My boy is on 6oz. When he wants a bottle I use 3oz of fresh boiled water and mix in the formula then top up with 3oz of the cooled water to make up the 6oz. Been doing this since he was born, can easily make up a bottle in barely any time! Then when we go out I take the cooled water and a flask of hot water, works a treat. We didn't like the idea of the rapid cool because once the formula has been in it its not sterile

I do 2oz hot water then put cool water before boiling it in to another bottle 3 oz then pour it in and it’s ready for them to drink xx

I have 2 flasks on the side one of boiling water and one of cooled boiled water. For a 4oz bottle i do 2oz boiling water, add formula and mix then add 2oz cool boiled water. It takes a couple of minutes and the milk is warm. I do they when i go out aswell. The thermos flask keeps the boiling water over 70 for up to 12 hours depending what one you get x

I did use the fridge method but found my little one was getting a bad tummy so we’ve stopped. So we’ve gone back to the method we used for my eldest. Thermos (specifically the brand) flask, filled with boiled water straight from the kettle this lasts 12+ hours at 70 degrees or over. I then fill our Nuby flask with boiled water. Tommee tippee formula pots with measured out formula in. We use mam bottles. Our little one is still on 90mls so we use the lid to measure 30mls for the hot shot from the thermos flask, then a spare bottle to measure the remaining 60mls from the Nuby rapid cool. Whenever this gets low (if it even does) we just top it up from the thermos. It’s honestly the easiest way to do it. The longest part is measuring your water out but we’ve got it nailed now 😂 You can use another normal flask with cooled boiled water instead of the Nuby but we use it cos we have it and it cools it down anyway (win win!)

Premake, premake, PREMAKE! Also top tip, look up the Dr Brown formula pitcher too. You can make a huge batch at once instead of individual bottles and keep it in the fridge for 24 hours. Its literally thr best thing ever. Then pour out what you need into a bottle, warm up in a jug of hot water.

@Levi at the end of the day hun, you need to do what is easiest for you, but also make sure it’s safe for baby. I was reared on pre-made bottles and live to tell the tale. Give it a go, if baby doesn’t like it, try a nuby rapid cool. They currently have them on sale. I got one just so I didn’t have to worry about the 2 hour limit on the bottle when out, otherwise we are fridge method through and through

Have 2 flask! One with hot boiled water and one with cooled boiled water... Do the hot shot, add formula, and then add the cooled water... Takes less then a minute... I do this for every bottle, I don't have time to run bottle under cold tap I have a very hungry baby 😂😂

Have a flask of hot water in my room and a bottle of cooled boiled water. Add one ounce of hot to the bottle mix in the formula then add the rest desired amount of cooled boiled water to top the bottle up and it’s at the right temp to feed so for me 1 ounce of hot then 3 of cooled to make 4ounce I’ve got a prep machine also but kept being told not to use it if I do use it I put cooled boiled water into the machine so he’s never having unsterile water

@Jess I do this roo 🫶🏼 we take a flask too and just add a little hot shot x
