Saint Joseph vs Tacoma general

Honestly I really want to give birth at saint joseph but two doctors are persuading Tacoma general and heard good reviews . I only don’t want to go there because my fiances ex wife gave birth there and I want to have my own experience and not have him know it all already…. Plus saint joseph is such a pretty hospital. Has anyone tried either or??

I heard really good things about St. Joseph. When I was going through my birth of my stillborn. I was at Tacoma General and all the nurses were really good to me and treated me with kindness. The only slight thing I would say is make sure you have your husband advocate for you if you can’t. One nurse kept trying to convince me I wasn’t dialated far along to deliver but since we were significantly early in the pregnancy I think I was. I don’t think it was anyone’s fault on that just lack of communication in that moment. I will be going to them again in June for my second

I had a great experience at Tacoma General, I was born there myself as well. I had my second at Good Samaritan in Puyallup and also had a really good experience. I don’t have any experience at St Joes so I don’t have any downsides to it, I just know my two births at other hospitals were great. Plus Tacoma General has the children’s hospital as well so that’s always a plus!

Tg was amazing experience for me I like it there st Joesph gives me nightmares staff not as great anymore they are rude but no matter what it’s kinda up to u and ur doctor to decide on what is healthy for u and ur baby

Tacoma general is the best! I gave birth to 3 of my kids there and it was such a great experience…….. Saint Joseph actually had a problem in the maternity ward the bed was leaking blood You can Google it and read all about it. It happened like a year or so ago I had a homegirl who gave birth there said her nurses were horrible to her.

@Cortni awww I’m sorry to hear about your first but congratulations on your rainbow baby 💗💝 I hope everything goes smoothly with your delivery!

Tacoma general was the best. All my nurses and doctors always listened to me. Either way if you go to which ever he’s going to know everything he’s already been thru it. So it won’t matter which one you go to you just gotta look at the best option. My mom gave birth at TG to with all of my siblings and she loved it and we all gave birth there to except one sister and she said she hated st Joseph. My mom doesn’t like it either because she said they are rude. The rooms also at TG are way bigger they have a tub in there to incase you want to get in water. But I loved all my nurses they were so sweet and funny. Very helpful after my c section to!

I had my son at St Joes in May. It was a 45+ hour labor so I got to see a lot of staff changes, be in 4 different rooms so I feel like I got a vast experience of their labor + delivery. All staff were so helpful, encouraging, sweet and accommodating. The rooms were clean. We were very well taken care of and all our wishes were listened to. I was TERRIFIED of getting an epidural because I’ve had several friends/family who’ve had horrible experiences but I had mine placed perfectly in less than 10 minutes and it was the best moment of my entire life. I have a friend who had their daughter at Tacoma General and they have an amazing NICU over there so if you’re looking for that it is worth considering.

@Hosanna yea I recommend tg it’s really good place

I delivered at both places and I prefer Tacoma General ❤️

I had my son 2 years ago at Saint joes and hated it. The night nurses were rude and wouldn’t listen to me when I told them my son was coming. Ended up pushing him out without a dr in the room with a nurse holding one leg and my husband holding the other. I plan on having my next at Tacoma general because my friends have had their kids there and loved it

i gave birth at st joseph and the staff for the labor and delivery was amazing. all staff was caring and accommodating to what i liked and didn’t like during my birthing process. they were all very encouraging as well.i had such a good birthing experience. the only downside i had was in the postpartum section i felt very rushed. they kept me less than 24 hours after giving birth. and after asking for more formula, diapers and wipes they only gave me 1 of each which was disappointing due to all the tiktoks stating the nurses will stock you up before going home.

@Kaori go to tg the nurse even brought me extra stuff and shoved them in my bag. She made me take everything and more🤣 I’m like girl I’m good lol but that whole room was cleaned out

yea mine was being stingy as hell😭 i was like this is not giving what tiktok was saying AT ALL😂

Thanks ladies !! This made me feel more confident in where I want to go because I just want what’s best for baby and me ☺️🫶

I’ve heard really bad things about TG however it was all the NICU and early delivery stores. Personal I gave birth at the st. Joes midwifery birth center and I won’t go anywhere else (other than home) for my next birth. I loved everyone I met there and they gave me exactly the birthing experience I was hoping for with my 1st

@Jenna what did you decide?

Tacoma general (: @Shynel

I had my first at St Joe and second in their birth center, I plan to go back to the st Joe birth center for my third and would recommend it to anyone! It was so great not having to stay overnight with my second when my first was at home; and I didn’t have a ton of people coming in and out of the room for testing; we just came back the next day and got it all done at once!

@Kirsten woooowww I have been thinking about a birthing center but I’m scared to do it without medicationssss 🥲

@Jenna it wasn’t so bad! Lol but we are all different so you do you! 😂 anyone that says birth doesn’t hurt is a liar 🤣🤣
