Stretch marks

I’m only 22 weeks and I’m getting quite a lot of stretch marks already and I barely even have a bump yet. stretch marks are beautiful🫶🏼 but mine are really knocking down my confidence because it’s a sudden change to my body and isn’t what im used to on myself. Any advice or good products I can use to reduce them and help stop getting more?

You can’t do anything. They are genetic unfortunately.

I don’t have any on my stomach but did have a lot on my breasts and thighs during pregnancy. They do say they are can be genetic but I used bio oil and palmers cocoa butter which I found helped. It is a massive change but once your little one is born you’ll see it was all worth it. You are beautiful xxx

Don’t waste your money on creams etc. it’s just one of those things unfortunately xxx

I used the Burt’s bees belly butter from day one, applied it every morning, 5-10 mins until it absorbs and didn’t get any stretch marks. But not sure if it was because of the belly butter now or genetics.

I use Palmer’s Cocoa Butter stretch mark lotion… it’s about £6 for a good sized bottle. I’ve been using it since I was 12 weeks and I’m 20 weeks now. I also used it in my last pregnancy until we lost him when I was 26 weeks pregnant… but I didn’t get a single stretch mark on my stomach. This time I’ve started to get some stretch marks on my legs but I’ve not been applying it there. Maybe it’s just a coincidence I’ve not got any stretch marks (there’s some evidence it also could be genetic) but it’s worth giving it a try… you could also try bio oil to reduce the look of existing stress marks x

I also used Palmer’s cocoa butter all day every day and didn’t get stretch marks! I did get a few of them on my thighs but I didn’t use it there as often. Palmers cocoa butter also smells like chocolate :) I get a big bottle for all my pregnant friends!

Definitely keep it super moisturized despite it being genetic. Keeping hydrated and oils can definitely help!

After givinh birth u can do a laser traetment

Honestly you have to embrace them. I used bio oil and coco butter and I still got them with both pregnancy. It’s genetic. But the red goes away after you have your kids.

I have them all over my stomach breasts thighs but the ones over top of my pelvic area are the deepest. I always feel super anxious about them. But they also remind me how hard my body worked to make my daughter possible. You are beautiful regardless but I know how hard we can be on ourselves. Moisturizing will not stop them but it helps make them less itchy and irritating.

Most of the stretch mark creams don’t have the key ingredient that works. I searched it a bit when I was pregnant. The ingredient begins with C. Welch and this one has the extract in. Here’s the one I used Trofolastin Anti-Stretch Mark... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003Q3FPR6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share I watched a video or two which described the ingredient. https://youtu.be/vw9PuY-AYp4?feature=shared I searched for something like ‘what makes a good stretch mark cream’. Keep hydrated and moisturised at least twice a day. Try not to over eat also. I didn’t get any marks in the end but used this and coconut oil twice a day. This cream will help your marks fade and aim to prevent new.

@Em yes and no- my mum got serious stretch marks and i got stretch marks from growing quickly on my legs and boobs as a teen…. But no stretchmarks during pregnancy… i was oiling and hydrating my skin every morning snd night and sometimes in the day… i mean really oiling my bump up, i would feel like a slug getting into bed but it was also a nice bit of self care- no stretch marks this pregnancy!

Raw shea butter worked really well for me.

They will fade after baby! Idk how much but they will which is a plus

Try not to itch babes x

I swear by bio oil. I know people say they are genetic and moisturising doesn't work... but my thighs are covered in stretchmarks from pre-pregnancy and my boobs are covered in them from breastfeeding. However I only have one on my stomach and I applied bio oil at least once a day from when I was about 8 weeks pregnant. I didn't put any on my boobs and thighs and I have loads. So I absolutely believe bio oil made a difference as my bump was huge.

I use bio oil everyday twice a day and swear by it as well

It does feel nice to use baby oil etc on bump too may help

Baby oil and weleda skin food

I used the 100% natural African shea butter(yellow tub) throughout my pregnancy and had no stretch marks

I was gifted the Mama Mio and I applied 2x a day and have just a few. Not sure if it was the cream or genetics.

Palmers cocoa butter xx

Girl sometimes it happen’s they lighten up with time don’t be too hard on yourself

Bio oil for definite 🙌🏽 and I used caudalie vinosculpt cream too ☺️🫶🏽

I used every cream there was. I still got them and also more after I gave birth!! They do fade quickly. They are down to genetics. Best one I found was mama mio

I also got them around 22 weeks, sadly there just is not anything you can do! Byt they look alot different after giving birth and your body changes! From my experiance you forget they are there xx

Try organic coconut oil it will moisture ur skin very well . Help to prevent from stretch marks

Arbonne refirming cream and detox oil

I started using mamamio tummy rub oil from 8 weeks and then bio oil from the second trimester and I only got stretch mark in the final 2 weeks. Like dam I thought I was getting away with it

I used the weleda stretch mark massage oil every day religiously in my first pregnancy because my stomach was sooo itchy and only got a tiny stretch mark where my belly bar used to be, although I do think genetics play a massive part! If nothing it helped with the itchiness from the skin stretching!

No cream will prevent them coming hun it’s a genetic thing! I didn’t have any and then 35 weeks I got loads😞 my little boy is 17 months now and they have gone down massively I’ve never put anything on them it’s just when your body is ready to go back!xx

@Georgia genetically I have them I had them when I was fat but a cream will keep them to a minimum. I started to get them at 7.5wks and now at 10wk since using refirming cream I do not have any

Mama mio stretch mark oil is amazing

They lighten with time! Just stay moisturised xx

It’s genetic and there’s no evidence to suggest anything you put on will prevent them. But I’m using Palmers Cocoa Butter like my Mom did anyway.

8 sheep and Bio Oil

Bio oil and loads and loads of moisturiser. I applied it everytime I went to the toilet and it worked a treat on my tummy xx

My aunt recommended using a real Aloe Vera and just have it on it but also i definitely recommend buying calamine because soon you will start itching !!

I got stretch marks at 34/35 weeks and was so gutted. They really got me down as I was not used to this on my body and worried what they would look like after birth. I’d been using mama mio, butter cream, some bio oil. The redness went down a lot after birth but never completely went & although im still conscious of them, they don’t bother me so much anymore. I’m currently pregnant with number 2 and started getting them around 22 weeks this time. I’ve been using bio oil every night and then don’t seem as red this time but I’m only 25 weeks so they may get worse. Unfortunately it’s genetic but I try to look at them as a ‘badge of honour’ so many women would love to have these if it meant having a baby 🧡
