Large muslins are good if you intend to breastfeed, especially when out and about! x
Bigggggg ones! I’ve got some Aden + anais from my first baby and they’re a muslin/swaddle they’re so good I’d recommend them even for the price tag!
I have big muslins but definitely not ones big enough to swaddle a baby. I bought most of mine from primark for maybe around £5 for a pack of three, mums bought loads for me and just been buying them from places like home bargains!
The smaller ones are great for dribble, sick, spit up etc. I found the bigger ones great for when BF out and about as a cover up. I never swaddled with muslin and used the love to dream but the big ones I had you could of deffo swaddled with them. I also use a big one in hospital as a sheet for the bassinet 😊
To start with I’ve got 8 little ones for burping etc and a couple bigger ones for BF/Pram cover ups/potential swaddling to test out knowing i can buy more if I end up going through them & wanting less frequent Landry.. I’ve also got 2 different sleep sacks and a few other cellular blankets to see what sleeping arrangements work for my little one before buying more, following advice from many mums on here.
@Carla we bought a set of these for no.1 and they have been one of the most useful ones! Great for dribble and spills, and we still use them daily at 3 and a half for wiping hands and face after eating 😃 You'll still need some larger ones but just reassuring you these ones definitely don't need to go back 🙂
@Carla also I got a pack of small ones and used them for in the bath to soak up the warm water and lay them over baby! They’ll come in handy 😂
Are Muslins better than other cloths, like tea towels? I've got some but not entirely sure what I'm using them for yet 🤔
@Becca I was the same with my first, I only bought a few muslins as I wasn't sure what they were for! Then baby arrived and she was a sicky baby till about 6 months really. We had a few old tea towels too but found muslins are better x
I've just ordered some 50x50 ones and 70x70 ones. I'm sending the 70x70 ones back as they feel too big for what we'll use them for! Large muslins are good for swaddling summer babies but with our bubba due in February, I'm just sticking to the smaller squares for burping etc xx
