I've been putting away little bits, I plan to take around 13 months, I will be paid by work the full time I am off, obviously at a significantly reduced rate with the addition of some holidays either side at full pay x

We have a general saver that any upcoming big expenses have to come out of, with a pretty fixed saving amount every month. So any new expense (mat leave pay cut, holiday) I add, I check that the savings pot projection is still OK in the long run. (It's a calendar in an excel).
What worries me is what we'll have to pay for daycare in Edinburgh 😢 I think starting Feb I'll need to put aside more.
I'm planning to take 9 months + any annual leave I have

Hi ! My husband and I are putting a few hundred away each pay day into our joint account, it's more for things for the baby as I think me being paid full pay for the first 6 months of maternity will mean I don't need to save. Nice to have a buffer I guess. I'm planning on taking 9 months. 1.5 months will be made up of my annual leave/ Bank Holidays.

Yeah we’ve started putting some away each month. Planning on taking a year leave and hoping to ask if I can go back 4 days a week as the cost of nursery fees for a full week are a lot 😅🤞

I will be once I’ve paid my debt management plan off and it gives me a fair bit extra a month. Taking 6m full pay then probably 2 or 3 more on stat pay
