Deodorant before egg collection

I would quickly wash it off if I were you…I think they say it’s because certain scents/chemicals can interfere with the egg when they collect it, and eggs/embryos are very sensitive something like that. You’ve come this far, you don’t want to have any feelings of guilt. Good luck 🤞🏽

I was never told this. Put on my deodorant as normal, and got great results. Both times. But with how stressful IVF is, I'd probably wash it off since you were told to and there are no what ifs 💖

This rule always made me laugh. I always followed it but are you telling me none of the staff in there are wearing deodorant 😂

My clinic told me none of them wear deodorant or perfume. Or specially non scented natural products. The scent can be really harmful. It’s got a lot of very strong research to back it up!

That’s interesting. I had my egg retrieval this morning as well and I was told I may wear deodorant.
