Trouble with lubion injection

Hi All Second FET over here so I've experienced trouble with lubion before (more difficult to push in because it's oil based and warming it through to avoid lumps and bruises). Has anyone ever struggled to push it in? My first injection went fine but my second and third the injection popped open as I was almost finished injecting it through. Basically the needle was still in me but the plastic syringe bit had broken off. I am going to ring the emergency line at the clinic today but its Sunday so I fear very little response. Has anyone had this issue before? Any tips or tricks would be massively recommended!

Hi there, I’ve been having this problem with lubion too. I saw on here that someone said to sit on the vial or put in your bra for 10mins before setting up the injection to warm it slightly. I’ve found this has made it easier to push the injection in then. Hope it helps you too!

So sorry just read that you said you’ve warmed it already. 🙈🙈 so sorry that was likely no help if my response then. Hope you get some more useful tips, so sorry 🙈

Not sure if you have already tried this, but I’ve noticed with the small injecting needle the end is slanted.. if you make sure the slanted end is facing upwards to the ceiling when you inject it will glide in smoothly and doesn’t seem to hurt? Worth a try, hope this might help x

I’ve had this about 3 times when I took lubion. I would do another injection straight away if under half the lubion went in, but would leave it if over half went in. This isn’t something the clinic told me, just my own rule I made up to make me feel like I had a plan if it happened again! On trying to avoid it, I would: - make sure the tip of the syringe where the base of the needle attaches to doesn’t get wet (think it’s then easier to slip off if wet) - push the liquid through very slowly, over 20-30 secs. Good luck!

I always warm mine before using it and look at the tip of the needle as its slanted and slowly inject. Plus I found it easier doing it in my thigh rather than stomach.

Thank you so much all! @Philippa I will try this tonight! Thank you for your help x
