My 2 week 3 days LO has bad nappy rash, we've been using cotton wool & water, changing more regularly, bathing daily, no nappy time, using sudacream doing everything we can but it just looks so sore for him.
Is there anything else I can do or creams that I can use instead ?

Learn more about our guidelines.I use olive oil for my babies with every nappy change. I have noticed oil keeps rushes away
This is the best stuff I’ve used, clears it up right away!

Following as need to know 🩷
Are you BF or formula? I ask because it could be a reaction to something that’s causing it. How are his poops?
We’ve always used bepanthen every nappy change religiously and have touch wood never had any sore bum/ nappy rash x
Our midwife recommended Metanium and said If not resolving with Metanium after a few days to book a gp appointment as may be thrush which needs gp to prescribe treatment for.
As others have said, Metanium is like a miracle cure. Usually after one application it's on the way to being gone x
I use cold pressed virgin coconut oil on every nappy change and my baby has never had a rash.
Yellow metanium.
Maybe it’s too much water? Make sure they’re completely dry after using any wipes or water. I don’t think at that age they need to be bathed every day, I’d probs reduce it. Also try reducing cleaning after wees. We did some research and most places say you don’t need to clean after wees as ruined rarely irritates skin, and nappies are v absorbent. Helped clear our boys up.
(Pls don’t anyone come at me for this! We researched it and it’s helped immensely)
Used this, was gone in a couple days. Tried Metanium too but didn’t get on very well with it. https://www.boots.com/sudosalve-nappy-rash-treatment-cream-10285065
Metanium 💯
We’ve used sudacrem after every nappy change & people laugh at how much I put on, I basically do the whole area where the nappy touches, hips and top of legs … all of it …. But my LO is 4 months old and still hasn’t had a sign of nappy rash.
I can’t imagine it being very nice though, so fingers crossed your LO recovers asap xx
I’m a mum of two and a children’s nurse and personally absolutely can not stand metanium, I find it far to thick so not great if your little one already has established nappy rash (works best as a preventative) I swear by Asda little ones nappy cream (it’s a tube that’s about £1) I think what I’m trying to say is, what works for one might not work for you so don’t be disheartened if the first creams don’t work straight away. As adults we can’t all use the same lotions and potions and babies are the same. Hope your little ones is better soon x
@claire I second this my son very rarely get nappy rash but when he does it’s bad and this clears it up within a couple days
Thank you everyone, I'll try a few different creams you've recommended. He's BF and I had GD during pregnancy so we wondered if it was reintroducing sugar into my diet. He's quite a windy baby so I wondered if it was cause his poo is too acidic.
Thank you for all your suggestions, hopefully it'll get better soon 🤞 x
We've been trying to dry him after water wipes (used cotton wool and water and wasn't really any better), nappy free 5 mins as much as possible, Metanium nappy rash ointment (yellow one) and the Metanium barrier cream (purple one) :)
Metanium works miracles
@Kya totally agree with you the Sudosalve is way better then metanium xx
@claire this is the Best!!
