Cream cheese frosting - can I eat?

Bought some really nice carrot cake from M&S and was really looking forward to eating it but completely forgot that there’s cream cheese on it! Can you eat cream cheese frosting when you are pregnant? 🤯

You can eat cream cheese in general as it’s pasteurized. It’s the unpasteurized soft cheese like Brie that you have to avoid 💕

You can eat cream cheese x

You can eat it! :)

Yes !

Yes 😂 enjoy

Isn’t cream cheese classed as soft cheese though? Read somewhere that soft cheese isnt to be eaten when pregnant. 🤯

They don't mean cheese spread, I was confused about that aswell lol

The way they word it is definitely vague - but cream cheese spread is fine because it is pasteurized. They’re talking about fancy cheeses when they say “soft cheese” so if you were to order a cheese board in a restaurant, you could eat the cheddar, Parmesan, manchego etc. but should avoid brie, blue cheese, goats cheese, etc. — and technically all of it can be eaten if you heat it up first (like on a pizza) 💕
