We have a dockatot. She's slept in it since she was a couple months old and wouldn't sleep without being in it!

We had the dockatot and it was our best purchase. He loved sleeping in there and got so much use out of it. He even still wanted to squeeze in there when he was too big 😂🙈

Neither as they're not safe. They're not recommended for safe sleeping and they're actually banned in some countries due to the dangers and the outcomes of the dangers.

@Daphne The Purflo is marketed as being safe for overnight sleep. I’d just be using it during the day for short periods.

I wondered how long it would take for the “not recommended” comments. @Hannah I clicked on your profile to see where you’re based I hope you don’t mind. I see you have a cat … I do too. For us having the dockatot was soooo much safer for day time naps than a Moses basket because you can lay it in whatever room you’re in so you can keep an eye on baby. Cats will almost always try and jump into a basket and because the Moses baskets are light they will just topple over xx

@CMc💕 Thank you, that’s part of the reason we want to get a nest, because of the cat. She’s a curious girl and I’d rather a nest we can see directly into than a Moses basket or anything where the full view is partly covered. I’m sold on a nest just not sure which one! 😁❤️

Last time, I checked they say that the fabric is breathable. Therefore, they market it as safe. Also who is it tested by an independent agency or Purflo? The bolsters are still there and are still a suffocation hazard. And suffocation is silent, hence the ban. Anyways, if your research gives you the confidence that they're safe and the correct item for you then I don't think it matters which one the go for as they're roughly the same.

@CMc💕 some people don't know they're not recommended. Therefore, it's always good to ensure people are aware.

@Hannah I’ve not heard of the Purflo but I’m sure it will just be as good ❤️ x

@Daphne Thank you Daphne. I have a cat so baby would never be left unattended. It’s just somewhere to pop them, instead of onto the sofa etc when I need to briefly be away from them☺️

Purflo is the only one safe for unsupervised sleep. We had the Purflo nest and loved it😻

Neither, they are not safe even if marketed for sleep. Purflo is NOT recommended for sleep even if marketed as safe. They were done for misleading advertising. Just popping them down in one for day relaxing fully supervised then it’s fine. To be honest if you’re doing that putting them inside a pregnancy pillow if you already have one would be cheaper.

Neither are safe. Both will increase the risk of SIDS. While it may be marketed as safe for sleep this is because there are very few limited standards in the U.K. to class something as ‘safe for sleep’ the lullaby trust has lots of information on safe sleep and products available. If it’s somewhere to ‘pop baby down’ get a play mat. The floor is infinitely safer than any of the sleep products on the market and the play mat will be more stimulating

@Ceri-Ann Hi Ceri-Ann, thanks for the message. Ultimately and factually SIDS is not fully understood, which is unfortunate and the exact cause is unknown. As with anything, there is always a risk and I think the risk itself in this case is super, super, super low. For me personally, with cats in my household, a play mat holds a greater risk. Ultimately it’s down to personal preference ☺️

@Hannah I’m well aware of of the complexities of SIDS (I’m a midwife and have cared for families who have lost babies to SIDS) cats pose a far lower risk to babies than unsafe sleep products and if you feel your cats would pose a risk to your baby on the floor they will pose the same risk wherever baby sleeps. (And yes I had 3 cats and a dog with a baby so have plenty of experience with animals and a newborn)
