Heyy I have heard Edgware isn’t as big for maternity as other places, maybe that’s why? If it’s too inconvenient you could always switch to a different hospital or speak to them and demand to only be seen there! They should offer you a reason at least ! X
I’m also giving birth at Edgware, I’m 37 weeks but it’s only a small birthing centre I have to go Barnet hospital for scans which is closer then the other hospitals you’ve been referred to and then my midwife appts are at Edgware. I know you can only be at edgware if you have no complications through out pregnancy or birth which is why it’s so small. Maybe give them a call and say you want to be at Barnet for scans as it’s more convenient for you. goodluck x
@Shamz love it demand exactly why my other half said!!! Think I’ll give them a call today. It’s not the end of the world, I’m just a stress head and love routine and consistency. I don’t deal with incompetence well and I just have a feeling 🤣
@Christalla awww thank you for your reassuring words. Like on one hand very excited I’m finally getting the appointments. On the other I’m outraged they have me running around. I’m also realising anything can’t set me off into rage at the moment 🤣
I recently moved to Stanmore, this is my 3rd baby and my google mals was telling me to go Edgware ..... this was 5.30am pains came every 5mins..... on arrival we didn't know it was a pre booked thing ..... luckily the midwife let me enter and by 5.50am my waters went and I gave birth standing up Lol with no pain relief 😅 😌 baby came at 5.55am lol , afterwards I was sent to barnet for recovery and I was home that same evening x
@Elle (i can't see waves) what, after delivery you were sent elsewhere!!!! My gawd this sounds like my worst nightmare. How was it for you though?? Was it traumatic? 🤨Maybe I’m making a big deal over nothing. I’m not even going to have the baby there! Mon- Friday I stay with my parents for work, but likely to have the baby in Gloucester.
I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant and have had all of my appointments at the same hospital in North London. I suppose it will depend on whether the location you’re at has all the relevant departments incorporated or they need to outsource. I know for sure that you always have the right to choose where you receive your antenatal care - and you don’t need to provide a reason for it. Might be worth checking if there is a hospital near to you which can provide all of your care in one place? Sorry you’re going through this 🤍
