Big baby?

Have any of you had babies on the 57th centile? If so how big were they? He's currently 1lb 14oz at 25+3😬

i'd say 57.2 is pretty average for baby at that gestation. my first born was always 90+ on the centile and he was born 8lb 12. x

@Melissa Thankyou, I really want a natural this time so I feel like I'm over worrying about everything!x

Hey! Could not help noticing we have the same edd date. I guess we are pushing together😀

@Amina woohoo, feel free to drop a message😍

with my son I measured 99th centile and sometimes above 99th centile and he was 10lb 2oz at 39 weeks 😅 I reckon he would have been 11lb if I had gone overdue ( I had a c sectio luckily )

@Amy So at 57.2 were thinking maybe 8/9lbs?x

@Jasmine I think maybe even like 7/8lbs ? To be honest I wouldn’t worry about those charts too much, nearly everyone I speak to has had off measurements ! I think I must have been one of the select few who it was actually accurate lol ! Baby tends to put on the most weight towards the end usually the last few weeks, when your have your 36 weeks scan see what they are like then and go from there I would say â˜ș xx

@Amy True, I just panic as big babies run in the family😂😂x

43% of babies will be bigger than yours on the 57th centile. Lots of factors go into a baby’s birth weight but your baby literally looks like the most average measurements going so please relax.

My first daughter was 2 lbs 7oz at 25 weeks but was born 7 lbs 3oz xxx

Thankyou everyone x

Hey a quick question, your midwife has provided you these papers or you had a scan? I had appointment today but not received any papers

@Dalma It was a growth scan!x

@Jasmine ah don’t panic, everything will be okay â˜ș I know people who have birthed 9lb babies with ease and people who’s babies are 6lb and have torn, it really does vary x

50th percentile is bang on in the middle, average weight. They estimated my son at 25th and he was born on the 9th. They estimated my nephew on the 10th he was born on the 99th! đŸ«Ł Take it with a pinch of salt. Baby will be just perfect đŸ˜â€ïžđŸ™đŸ€—

@Amy Yeah I just have weak hips so would be worried about dislocation! What will be will be x

@Leanne Thankyou😍

That’s pretty average. My baby was measuring 50th centile whole pregnancy. Even 6 days before she was born (at 36 weeks) and she was born on the 0.9 centile! So take it with a pinch of salt!

My baby was born around 52nd I think đŸ€” and he was 7lb 2oz

@Charlotte oh cool!x

57th percentile isn’t particularly big. 50th percentile is average. Some babies will come up on 90th percentile

Do you mind me asking why you had a scan at 25 weeks? I've heard NHS doesn’t provide any another after the 20 weeks one 😞

@Nathalie they will provide , I have 3 extra scans 28,34 and 37 weeks becuase of high risk pregnancy low PAPPA levels. They are going to provide , if your baby is measuring small/big, risk of preeclampsia and if you have have it I had high blood pressure with my first baby and had 2 scan at 28 weeks and 37 weeks so it’s all depends on your pregnancy xxx

@Nathalie I'm currently admitted into hospital with severe stomach pain so they needed to check on baby. But I'm also high risk so get more scans anyway x

I see, thank you ladies then I suppose I hope I won't need an extra scan đŸ€ž

@Nathalie Absolutely. As nice as the scans are it's normally because something is wrong when you need the extras and from my experience they are scary whereas you've got a nice healthy pregnancyđŸ„°
