For me (this was the first sign of pregnancy I had from 5 weeks - still suffer now): - Ice cream / milkshakes - oat milk - Rennies/gaviscon depending on how awful it is - cereal and milk - avoiding tomato based sauces/meals - avoiding juices Some say peppermint tea, however it’s 50/50 whether this will make it better or worse - for me it makes it worse 😩 Water was awful in the beginning for me but actually the more I drink the better it gets through the day, it’s supposed to balance the acid in your stomach as well ☺️
Oprezamole and gaviscon medicine downing it by the bottle as I have a haietus hernia it’s worse with that than just heartburn
Thanks Ladies - didn't think I was able to take these! (Grabs car keys and drives to pharmacy😅)
Eat 2 Rennies after food and before bed I haven't got it really bad but the last week or so I've had it almost everyday
Also sleep propped up it helps a bit
Hey I’ve been experiencing the same thing , I told my doctor about it and she suggested alka seltzer chewy Tums or pepside Tbh if you go to Walmart and go in the medicine aisle you can look for anything that says heart burn relief
Ask your Gp to prescribe you some omeprazole, it was a life saver for me when I was pregnant! Gaviscon didn’t touch the sides. X
Rennie's or gavison Also chewing gum was absolutely brilliant for me :) x
@Claire will have to ask them if this continues on... can't live like this for sure 😬
@Laura yeah it’s not fun especially laying in bed asleep and suddenly waking up because you think you’re about to be sick 😂🙈 but honestly don’t suffer your GP will happily prescribe you some as they know it’s only short term until baby moves down….. in my case my baby did not engage AT ALL so I’m glad I had the tablets to help as I would not have coped x
I've also suffered since the start, and problem I've always LOVED spicy foods... Branded gavison is so expensive, I've found HOME Bargains or Internet (ebay) had better cost ones (peptac) but I Hate the consistency, however it helps a bit, better than nothing (bring back Peptobismal, damn Brexit) Good luck!
I’ve been taking Toms…as someone without gall bladder..everything I eat causes acid reflux..😫
Pepcid ac and picot
Yogurt helps too
Hi I have had this since day now I'm 40 weeks on Thursday, I went into chemist yesterday and asking for something as I was actually taking rennies like sweeties and I got peptac I got offered the aniseed one or peppermint don't get me wrong it's so gloopy but I think it's working as not as bad today but I got it on minor elements. X
