11 month old barely eats… help!

My baby girl started rejecting food at 9 months. I tried purees, solids, everything. She was never a good eater.. but she literally wouldn’t eat anything after 8.5-9 months. It was most likely due to teething. At the end of 10 months, she started opening up to the idea again… here and there… but till this day.. she literally eats a few bites of something.. if even that. It’s like she’s 6 months again.. and is experimenting… and spitting most things out. It’s scary because she’s almost 1… and it makes me sad that she’s not “on par” with what a one year old should be doing, at least food wise. How is she going to grow and develop!? Has this happened with anyone else’s baby? Any tips? Any hope? Am I doing something wrong!?

My son is 11 months 12 next week and is the exact same. He went through a short period of a couple months of being a decent eater but for the most part will only eat a couple bites (if that) unless we give him toast or yogurt. It’s very stressful so I get it!! I was told to start giving him a multivitamin and to make things as calorie dense and fatty as possible (adding butter, olive oil, almond butter, avocado etc) and to just keep offering but really it’s up to to him to decide to eat. She also said to go longer between feeds and milk to ensure he’s hungry enough for food and she suggested liver or liver pate as well as it’s extremely nutrient dense

Oh my gosh! Firstly, thank you so much for your response. I appreciate it. I honestly feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders a bit knowing she’s not the only one. (Not that I would want this to be the situation with your son either, but you know what I mean). But thanks for the advice! I’ll try that. So with whatever she does eat.. at least there’s some fat in it.. and okay, I’ll look into a multivitamin. If you don’t mind, which do you give? Mine also eats tiny bites of toast, and some yogurt depending on the day. She used to like fruits and doesn’t touch them. It’s so stressful. And omgsh, close in age. My baby’s birthday is in two days.

@Meha Also, if you don’t mind em asking.. does he have any teeth? Anddd.. is his sleep affected at all by this? I also have a huge issue with my baby’s sleep.. she is restless and for months, has had a mix of separation anxiety, regressions, teething etc and does not sleep.. especially since she barely eats during the day. She’s awake every half hour, to ten minutes again and again.. crying. It’s insane.

Aw I’m glad I could help reassure you. I also always feel like my son is the only one because all my friends babies eat so well. The dietitian recommended this multi https://www.amazon.ca/Enfamil-TRI-VI-SOL-Multi-Vitamin-Supplement-Vitamins/dp/B0074EIDGI/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=21Y0M8DOOMNIH&keywords=poly+vi+sol&qid=1708037654&sprefix=poly+vi+%2Caps%2C99&sr=8-2 Same, he won’t touch fruit except for sometimes blueberries. When i give her toast or yogurt I make sure to put other healthy stuff on it (peanut butter, avocado, hummus, hemp seeds, berries so at least he’s getting something. Also, have you tried puréed veggie soups? If I make one with sweet potatoes and other veggies he’ll normally have some

He has two bottom, and just got 4 front teeth. I’ve never really noticed his teething affecting things but possibly it is. As far sleep he was always a bad sleeper but we finally sleep trained a few weeks ago and now he is sleeping through the night. I do get very stressed that he’ll be hungry at night though so if he hasn’t eaten much all day I’ll give him a peanut butter toast before bed to fill him up. He was not up every half hour though omg that sounds so rough, his was every 2-3 hrs. Have you tried sleep training? I kinda feel like every half hour is either a regression or another issue you need to get checked out

Also, might be worth meeting a baby dietician to get some tips (and a sleep consultant haha)
