Is a baby capsule/car seat that can be placed into a pram essential?

Hi. I’m a first time mum looking at prams and car seats. Is it worth buying a capsule that can fit into the car as well as a pram? Thanks

I wouldn’t say essential, but massively useful for sure. It just makes life so much easier when you’re first out and about with baby. Less moving them around, makes things a bit quicker etc.

I wish I had car seat that I could lift out car into pram be space saning and easier if baby asleep to tradition, I'd say easier with one

Life saver in my opinion x

It’s not essential as baby shouldn’t be in the car seat for more than 30 mins when they’re newborn, so it’s no use for longer trips. It is handy if you’ve got to very quickly pop into a shop though

I think it depends on how often you’ll be going out in the car. I had a capsule (and didn’t get the bassinet because I wasn’t sure I’d need both). The capsule was useful but I live in the inner city and most of the time I walked places with Bub. I think I would preferred the bassinet.

I never woke my baby up from car seat I let them sleep in it for couple hours kept eye on them obviously but yeah

I wouldn’t be without mine. Getting baby in and out of the car seat is a faff especially if they’re asleep

Avatar

I only use mine for appointments as sometimes parking isnt close by and its easier to push the baby than carry seat or baby 🤣 other than that not really but i found I could find adapters easily for my car seat even tho it didnt say compatible with my pram on their list and works perfectly

I only have the seat and not the isofix base (I don’t have a car but need something for the short trip back from the hospital). However once I invest I’ll get the swivel seat as my niece and nephew had this - life saver for your back.

I never had one, I've had a isofix all through car seat from day one. Occasionally he does wake up when I transfer him to the pram but often goes back to sleep once we're walking. I chose not to get a capsule so I wouldn't be tempted to leave him in there too long.

I didn’t have one for my first as we had a fixed car seat and it wasn’t difficult as we didn’t really know any different. With our youngest we’ve used a carry car seat and it is useful, although I wouldn’t say it’s essential

I never used mine until he was 6 months old as they can’t be in a car seat for more than 30mins and by then he was so heavy I couldn’t actually lift it onto the pram anyway - so wasted money in my opinion! New born babies tend to sleep no matter what, so I didn’t find moving him difficult.

Thank you for all the help 😁

We never used ours on the pram 😂 but then again I walked most days around town and we only used the car to go on trips 2/3 days a week. Then it's easier to have the whole pram and it's easy to transfer.

Avatar

For me it's an essential i used it everywhere, the bassinet bit is so big it barely even fit in my car and was so faffy being out and about

Avatar

Not necessarily “essential” buuuut it definitely makes transferring easier

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
