Knitted blanket

Would a knitted blanket count as cellular? Just worried about what to use for my little girl in March- I have gro bags but have heard they are too big for a new born.

it will all depend on the pattern and stitches, something knitted with big gaps and a light yarn will be a lot cooler than something double knitted with no holes etc. if you have a cellular blanket use that instead ☺️

The tommee tippee gro bag 0-3 fits a new born if they’re over 7 pound! They actually come up quite small. I used a cellular blanket for the first couple weeks then when he fit into the bags I used them. So much easy at night to lay them back down rather than having to tuck the blanket in & it wakes them up! I would just use cellular blankets first and maybe use a knitted one for outings in the pram. As you also have to think about if they might get too hot in their sleep! X

We used the love to dream sleep bags from newborn :) so much less stressful not having to worry about blankets over the face etc x

My little one was in a sleep bag from about day 3, he didn’t like being swaddled because he’s a hands up baby so I went by my judgment 🩵

@Carmen Jamie we loved these grow bags!! We used them from the start as lo was 8 lb

I had no luck settling the baby in a cellular blanket. After a couple of weeks of no sleep we went for a sleeping bag. We used the sweet dreamers one first. It’s quite small and really cosy. Arms in for a few weeks but then realised he slept fine with arms out and it worked better for breastfeeding

The grow bags were a life saver for me! My little one startled a lot as a newborn and it was amazing on her sleep not having those jerking motions waking her up.
