@Kaila do you care to elaborate?
We paid out of pocket for Mater (we fell pregnant before we could add our baby - being told we would struggle to fall pregnant š). It cost us $20k all up but that includes a private OB. Mater itself costs approx $3,000 for the PAC (pregnancy assessment centre) and then $8,000 up front for a caesarean (and if you donāt have one they refund you the money). I didnāt have a caesarean but we had to stay a week anyway so we used up any refund. Just be mindful if anything else happens that would cost also. We had a paediatrician doing checks on us and that was almost $400 a look - I am not joking.
My care pregnant was okay. My labour however was amazing, listened to everything I wanted. I had an amazing midwife and couldnāt fault anything
@Charli lol take every feedback with a grain of salt - I was told my PCOS would result in me HAVING to have assistance to get pregnant 2 out of 3 were surprises
Our private health was short by 3weeks so we had to birth in a public hospital. The Redlands hospital was amazing- I couldnāt fault the midwifeās or doctors, and the birth suites were fantastic. If you can somehow give birth there vs Logan, Iād suggest doing so. From friends etc Iāve only ever heard negative things regarding the Logan hospital
Had a great experience for birth in 2022, their staff are really attentive. Logan sounds bad because of the demographic but the staff are all great. Having my current pregnancy with them too and no complaints. If you have any specific questions Iām happy to answer :)
@Natalie thank you so much
Yeah they did all these tests on me and came to that conclusion. I have a tumour and wanted to get it removed, that brought up the subject of having a family (as I was getting old š¤). Then they did tests etc and said try for 12 months and if you canāt fall pregnant come see us. Straight away. ššš. Couldnāt be happier with our little man. So so in love. Worth everything
I gave birth at Logan on 4/4/24. They gave me the best care, the birthing sweet is very big and new. You get the option to have a water birth if you want, the midwives were amazing! And had my own room post natal. Would go back again š
I gave birth at Logan last year and could not fault the midwives. I went in at midnight and the reception staff were very rude, but the midwife I got was outstanding. She listened to me and everything I wanted and I got the birth I wanted. When I went onto the ward I shared a room with another mum whoād just had a C-section and it was okay. Bub screamed all the time because he wouldnāt latch but that canāt be helped. I got back on the ward at 5am and was discharged midday the same day
Self funding is approx $10k if you can afford that :)
