Overnight leaky boob tips

Morning, I don't want to wear a bra overnight but my boobs leak on overnight. Anyone got any solutions to catch overnight milk leaks?

The only thing I think you could do is pump throughout the night but not even sure that would stop it. I've given into the fact I'll have to wear s bra and I even saturate that at night x

I understand not wanting to wear a bra at night, I'm the same, but I can't not have pads in - the medela cool sleep bras are super soft and light, doesn't feel like you're wearing a bra, or sometimes I just wear a drop down nursing vest with in built "support" to keep pads in place x

I couldn’t not as I’d wake up in puddles.

I hate sleeping in bras but I'm really not sure there's another way around it. All the milk collector shells/cups or pads require a bra to hold them in place. Other than waking to pump every 2 hours I don't have a suggestion I'm afraid! I wear wireless unpadded bralets at night as they are the comfiest I've found. X

I have the same problem. Just isn’t an option for me sadly, I mostly wear a nighty from bravissimo with a sleep bra built in. Then wear my Elvie catchy’s to collect during the night.x

So glad I'm not alone with this! I would've thought waking to pump would make it worse as your teaching your supply it is needed at that time. I have a newborn feeding regularly anyway, but it's between 4-7am I leak most!

Im not sure breasts learn to produce at specific times but if you're worried about an over supply you'd want to pump just to comfort- to release the fullness which is causing the leaking, rather than pumping to empty.

That's what I was meaning, you produce more if you take more so waking to pump long term isn't going to help? With my first I accepted bra sleep life then within time it sorted itself out and stopped leaking. :) but was just wondering if anyone had found comfier ways to catch the leakage :)

If you just pump to comfort, just removing a small amount then it shouldn't affect the amount to produce at all as you're leaving the large majority of the milk in the breast. Just taking out enough so they don't keep overflowing. Hope you find a solution which works for you though! X

I just use a soft stretchy crop top type bra for night time which is much more comfy than a regular daytime bra

I sleep in a really soft / thin crop top style bra, and have pads in that.

Only way for me to not end up in a puddle is washable bamboo pads changed each time I get up, a stretchy vest top (the really stretchy ones that dry really fast), towel across me, and then fold up the bottom half of the top over the towel, and a towel in the bed. It's pretty hideous but the only way to survive(!) I think mine did settle down with no.1 but it took a while. Pumping when I get up to feed or hand expressing dont work for me 🙃

Ohh collection cups have been my life saver I have an elvie set and a medela set and the elvie ones are best a nights and I add what I collect to bottles I pump - I don’t like wearing bras at night either so I wear a tightish vest or a bralet made out of T-shirt like material
