Parent and child bays when parking.

Is it right when someone parks in a parent and child bay being heavily pregnant who suffers from pelvic gurdle, hip pain & has high risk pregnancy.. but NEEDS to go to shopping due to being a single mum? In the UK there should be a policy in place where pregnant women can actually park in a specific spot?.. it’s quite annoying. Anyone agree?

Commenting to follow as I agree with this

You CAN park in mother and child bay cause even if you dont have children with you, your pregnant so you are a mother

It boggles me that different countries have such different parking rules like this. In Canada (at least in my area) there are specific spots for "new mothers" and specific spots for "expecting mothers" and sometimes combos "new and expecting mothers". At 28w pregnant I'm still scared to park in the expectant mother spots for some reason 😅 but will certainly take advantage by 35w+. Regarding your question, I'm sure nobody would fault you for using the spot if you are obviously pregnant.

@Chloe I honestly never felt so embarrassed in my whole life. I went to Asda the other day. I’m heavily pregnant and I had to nip in to get bread and milk for myself. I have no other children but I’m a high risk pregnancy, I have pelvic gurdle and I just cannot walk for a long distance. Anyway I parked my car.. and as I was leaving another woman asked where my child was. I explained I’m heavily pregnant but she made me feel like I shouldn’t park in that spot as my baby girl isn’t here yet.. Some people are honestly so rude on top of that I’m trying to juggle everything being a single mum. I only wanted bread and milk for myself ffs 😢

It’s pretty normal to park in the parent and child bays in the UK. Once you’re quite big the extra room is useful for getting in and out of the car!

@incognito regarding Asda... You should have looked at her up n down n went huh! n walked off with your head held high. NEVER let anyone put you down or make you feel so small. You are a mother regardless whether your child is here yet or not. You CAN park in them spaces! Just remember you are amazing and doing an amazing and well worth job!!

I think if they actually have parent child parking spaces they should have pregnant mama spaces too. Or just include them in who can park in those spaces.

Wait yall have special parking for parents. Come on 😱😭 how do I leave the states to anywhere with better laws and healthcare

Just googled it and it says it’s up to the store whether you can use them when pregnant. Personally I think it should be aloud x
