Baby won't sleep in moses basket or next to me!

Any tips or tricks welcome. We've tried slightly warming, raising, white noise, rocking. Nothing works, I'm exhausted and Co sleeping just isn't an option anymore, it's impossible for me to sleep properly and I have a 3 year old that needs comforting throughout the night and also getting ready in the mornings! Does it get better with persevering?

My baby is now 9 weeks old. We did this “persevering” for 6 of that, barely sleeping. I will probably be crucified for it; but we purchased a nest, and then a purflow one for “safe sleep” - he finally sleeps!!!!

To get our little one used to his next to me, we did all day time naps in there, when we spent time (sometimes over an hour) settling and reassuring him until he fell asleep. The more day time naps we got settled in the next to me, the easier nights got. I can now put him in there wide awake (9 weeks) and he’ll settle himself to sleep 9/10 times!

@Becca our baby will only contact nap. She literally wakes the minute she's on her back! I think I will try with day times though! That's amazing that he settles himself x

Start with day times, if she wakes, soothe her, stroke her face, lots of shushing. It might be a slow process, but lots of reassurance. Pick her up if she becomes really upset and when she’s calmed, start again! You’ll get there xx

We also had a purflo nest which we put in the next to me and sleep is much better, I also purchased a swaddle bag, this has also really helped. You can pick them up on Vinted really cheaply!! X

Do you swaddle? Either love to dream swaddles or a soft cellular type blanket that you can tuck the corner of under the mattress in the next to me?

How old is your baby I just had this exact same issue only would sleep on me she’s just turned 3 weeks though and now sleeps in Moses basket next to me at night no luck with cot yet. I tried all those things but I think it was just persevering I kept putting her down in there and the white noise on even if for few mins before I had to pick her up again let her nap on me for like 10mins and then back down. She now sleeps in there for 3 hour stretches at night. I use a sleeveless sleeping bag also as she likes her arms to be out not sure if that helped but she seems to be happy now.

Sleeping bag was a life saver for me
