I know cathrine faucher at montfort is accepting OBGYN pts but she needs a referral
I haven’t tried that, I think k that’ll be my next step! Thank you so much! 😊
I had the same issue and used a virtual RN service through my husbands insurance called consult+ (he’s with canadalife) she was able to send me requisitions for ultrasounds bloodwork, medications etc. super handy if you can access it or something similar. You can message them 24/7 too which was amazing if you needed to speak to someone about a concern.
Go on the wait list for all of the midwives that work at the hospital you want to deliver at. I was called in through the wait list when I was around 20 weeks, they have availability open up if one of their patients becomes high risk and has to switch to an OB. Clinics can refer you for your 12 week scan and an ob but I don’t think you start seeing an ob until later in the pregnancy anyways. Look into MOMMA doctors, they are apparently always taking new pregnant patients but they will only be your doctor for the duration of the pregnancy, sometimes they will take you on as a patient afterwards if they have openings.
Maybe try Origyn medical on Bank street, I'm not sure but I reckon some OBGYN were accepting new patients without a referral Also, before having my OBGYN, I used Tia health to see doctors online and have referrals for blood tests and ultrasounds. It's covered by OHIP
@Janna usually on the website or the actual place it’ll say like ____ does not fill out forms or whatever & i think some apple trees will let you make an apt
My family doctor is at college square medical centre but they also do walk ins there(make sure to get there EARLY for the walk in though). They gave me a referral for the scans at the women’s ultrasound clinic on cleopatra drive. They also referred me to my OB, which was in the same building as the ultrasounds. I put myself on like 5 midwife wait lists in the Ottawa area but never heard back😢 Hopefully you can 🤞🏻
Appletree is your best option. Even though I have a family doctor, my OBGYN is from appletree. It’s very quick to get enrolled with them. You can walk in for your first visit! Then tell them that you would like to be enrolled in their clinic as you don’t have a family physician.
Origyns was taking patients without needing a referral last year when I was pregnant, could still be the case
if you haven’t already, try calling the docs in this list! found mine on here and she was awesome (mind you, this list is a lil out of date) https://www.ottawadocsdeliver.ca/
To get a referral for a OB, you will have to go to a walk in clinic. Finding a doctor in Ottawa especially is incredibly difficult and waitlists are very long. Your best bet at this point is to go to a walk in so at least you can be followed by an OB for your pregnancy. Multiple Ottawa medical group OBs are accepting new patients however you need a referral for them all, and the referral must be specific to an OB not just "an OB at the OMG"
@Camille I currently go to origyn I went to the general hospital when I was 6 weeks because I wasn’t feeling well and they referred me to them and now I have a obgyn
I didn’t have a family doctor that how I got them
Get the Telus health app and book an appt. with their doctors and ask them to send a req to Women Clinic Ultrasound and a referral to the OBGYN of your choice.

Go to a walkin clinic and from there, theyll find you a doctor. Thats what i did with my baby. I called and booked an appointment with the gynecologist in loblaws at college square and she saw me for a couple of months (2-3 months) until they found me a doctor to see.
have you tried apple tree or the u ottawa walk in clinic? some of the doctors will give referrals
