Storage

I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant with our baby girl and trying to work out how to store everything in a studio flat. I found this idea on Pinterest and had to give it a go! An IKEA spice rack flipped upside-down for shelves and hanging space! Once we get a bigger place these shelves will be then used as bookshelves. For £4 a piece you can't go wrong with such an affordable storage solution!!

@Siobhan if I had space for something like this I would have taken it. We only have wall space really and even then it's limited which is why I love the ikea spice racks

@Ebony these are only 30cm from the back to front so it's really good for space saving. Plus you can build them in whatever shape you want. We live in a small council flat x

@Siobhan oh we do love the council! 😂 we don't have enough floor space for a cot and have been refused additional housing

@Ebony we have to make do too. A typical cot won't fit in our flat but a space saving cot (50cmX100cm) will just about fit in our bedroom so that's the route we are taking cot wise. Our main issue now is the mould (it's always been an issue the whole 3 years I've lived here) and their "solutions" either don't fix it or just make it worse. Suddenly after getting MP involved and threatening to take legal action if it's still this way when baby is here in 3 months time, they seem to finally be taking me seriously. The fact I'm severe asthmatic should have been enough but no, legal action & MP involvement seems to be what's getting the ball rolling. Hopefully it actually gets fixed this time 🤞

Although really I could take legal action now if I wanted. But the repercussions on them is worse if I take legal action against them for it when there's a baby involved and living here too

Oh would love to do this in our apartment but we rent and only single fittings are available on our walls

We've had a similar issue as soon as I called the council and said I'm x weeks pregnant and have a history or bronchitis they shat themselves a bit and but a rush on the work. Their solution was to mold wash the leak and next to remove all the plaster and redecorate. I've got my health care team involved who have written a letter and I've taken photos for evidence too so will send in a complaint. If that doesn't work then I'll get the MP involved

@Dalma this one uses picture hook type nails. We're using command strips as the wall has too man wires in it
