Feeling incompetent at work

So I’ve had a bumpy ride throughout my career and studies where I couldn’t gain work experience at first and due to personal circumstances, was not able to focus very well at uni, but I managed to graduate and am now in what I may call my dream job, but it is proving to be more difficult day by day and my mistakes don’t seem to become less? I started working again in January after maternity leave so I am working part time. I understand they are adjusting to my schedule as I am working part time and so is my husband so we can both take care of our first boy, who is now 11 months, but I do feel I am not a priority in giving tasks and I can tell they are not giving me serious work because of my schedule, but at the same time they don’t give me enough time to go through work with me and then they get a annoyed if they feel they might not meet deadlines because of me? I feel serious imposter syndrome like I am such a useless worker and fear being fired all the time coz of all the mistakes I make, any advice to reduce this anxiety would be greatly appreciated- Many thanks

I was just going through this recently and am still working through it currently. I had been working in the field for 1.5 years before starting my current job but this is a different setting so the requirements were a lot different and the work is more demanding so I felt extremely incompetent for a long time but it’s almost a year now and it’s been getting much better and I realize that a lot of it has been in my head. Also the more I stress out the more I missed little things and I realized I was making everything worse. So you just have to remind yourself that you got through the schooling and was able to secure that job because you have the capacity to do it and that you deserve to be there as much as anyone else

@Steph thank you that was a helpful comment, reminding myself that I got through the schooling and have the capacity definitely does help 😊
