I flew a lot further along and it was fine, they just asked my due date and that was fine. I think it’s just very heavily pregnant women they need a fit to fly to prove your before 36 weeks. If your not showing you are absolutely fine
We flew with BA twice during my pregnancy and never asked for a letter. Second time I was a bit further on, so midwife provided a letter, but was never asked.
I have flown with BA up to 35 weeks. You don’t need one before 28 weeks! They didn’t check one the way out but they noticed my bump on the way back and did ask to see it! I did hide my bump with a big coat on the way out though… but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the risk!
I really don’t think you would need one for 21 weeks! X
You don’t need one at 21 weeks as long as you’re having a normal pregnancy with no issues, you’ll be totally fine 😊
Thanks everyone, very helpful!
You shouldn't need it at 21 weeks x
I wouldn’t say you need one! I flew at 31 weeks and was definitely showing and they never asked for my letter! I’ve learnt people don’t just assume you’re pregnant 🤣 you have to really show to be noticeable
I was asked to produce my certificate by BA at check in at 27 weeks pregnant. But I was carrying heavy.
Flew with BA at 31 weeks and they didn’t ask for a letter. I was clearly very pregnant but no questions were asked :)
I flew BA to Mauritius at 26/27 weeks and had a letter from my midwife but no one actually checked or asked for it x
I flew to Tunisia last year when I was 20 weeks pregnant, no one said anything on the way out there but on the way back a worker at the gate asked if I was pregnant and then said I needed to provide them with my due date etc. and I had to fill out some sort of waiver form. From then on they wrote on my ticket that I was pregnant and treated me like royalty 😂 we got to skip the queue and all sorts! Maybe take your mat b1 as it has that information anyway.
Not BA, but Jet2 don’t require one until after 27 weeks. Before this point there are no restrictions and a fit to fly is not required. Maybe BA are similar?
