Anyone else?

Hello, my son will be turning 3 in June. He’s the most happiest boy but he doesn’t talk at all. He babbles. He doesn’t understand instructions like ‘put your coat on’ ‘come here etc’ and he struggles with focusing on tasks. He doesn’t give much eye contact to anyone but me and his dad. No issues with hearing. We’ve been referred to speech therapy where he’s scoring a ‘red’ for everything. Has anyone been through speech therapy with their child and did it help? I’m worried I’m not doing enough. Thanks x

We have had one session of speech therapy, my son struggles with speech but not understanding. The tips they have given us so far have made things better. They do all progress at different ages. My son is 3 in June too. You will be doing enough, don’t blame yourself, they have to learn in their own time x

Yes my nephew did at 3 years old he started talking after about 3/4 months he is now 6 years old and let’s say the talking is no longer an issues xx

Talk to your Health Visitor team with your concerns. It's important if he requires early intervention they are aware. What did they say at his 2/2.5 development check? Best of luck x
