@Jessica well it's either placenta tissue or uterine tissue similar to when on period, I'm not sure x
If you have retained placenta then you should go to triage. I had retained placenta with my first baby which caused heavier bleeding, large clots and tummy pains. It can be quite dangerous. It was spotted when they did an internal ultrasound. They usually give you a tablet which eradicates what’s left .

I’ve been told by midwife any clots bigger than a 50p go and get checked. But there’s no harm in ringing up and asking anyway, better to be safe than sorry!
Your placenta should have all come out straight after birth, if you suspect you have some retained you should call triage. It could be blood clots but if they are on the large side I would again get checked out x
