If it’s the same as mine they will do a urine and blood test to confirm the pregnancy and test for a few things. You won’t have a scan until 12 weeks unless you pay and book an early one ☺️

At your booking apt they will take bloods and urine , do your height and weight , and ask lots of questions about you and your partners health. You won’t have scan untill 12 weeks x

I found it strange that at both booking in appointments I’ve been to, they took urine and blood but didn’t use it to test for positive pregnancy. Where I live in Warwickshire, they leave it up to the 12 week scan. I guess their stance is that urine tests can give false positives, screening for pregnancy in blood is an extra test that costs money and doesn’t provide as much info as a scan. The urine was to test for diabetes and the blood was used to test for blood type and diseases like HIV and syphilis.

Ok that all makes sense ive tried for years to conceive so im just really anxious and want it confirmed some how, im assuming i could pay for a reassurance scan before the 12 week scan? xx

They will also ask about domestic abuse and if ypu are at risk and feel safe. They waited for my OH to not be in the room but I have no issues there but it's to give women a chance to speak up if they need or want too x

Yes, I paid for a private early reassurance scan at 7 weeks so you could see a heartbeat.

I had a reassurance scan for my twins at 8 weeks but measured 6+6 and two heartbeats where seen. Unfortunately, I lost them two weeks later. We didn't get a reassurance scan with my LG as yes, you've seen a heartbeat, but that doesn't mean you are out of the risk zone. X

Thank you! Pretty sure i should be around just turned 9 weeks so going to ring up on monday see if i can book a reassurance scan before the booking appointment because theres no way i can wait until 12 weeks im too impatient for that 😭
