I don’t have experience with a bigger baby. But they told me mine was 7 or 8 pounds and he was 5 pounds 14 ounces. So those ultrasound measurements are usually off. Also mine had jaundice which I think happens when they’re smaller so I think you may not need to deal with that. Also I wasn’t prepared for preemie size I had to wrap mine in blankets and he fed every 1 hour or hour and a half. I think when they are not as small they can eat more and sleep more. I hope that’s the case for you. Good luck and prayers everything goes smooth!
They were so off on my ultrasound. They told me my son was measuring 7-8 pounds at 34 weeks and I had him 38 weeks he was 6 lbs 9 oz. They can be extremely inaccurate!
They told me mine was measuring in the 90th percentile and expect a huge baby. I went over 40 weeks and he was 8lbs 5oz. So not accurate in my case!
I've heard they're not very accurate. But also if you're having a C section then don't worry about it too much. Risks with big babies and normal delivery is mainly baby can get stuck, need instruments, shoulder getting stuck, big perineal tears etc. so if you're bypassing that anyway then should be fine.
My baby was 6lbs 12 oz she was born at 37 weeks but before they said she was 4lbs at 32 weeks so I was prepared for a Huge baby lol so they aren’t accurate
It can be off by 1lb or more
My baby was estimated to be 9lb 14oz and she came out 10lb 9oz. We did see her little fat rolls on the ultrasound so we figured the weight estimation might have been true so opted for the c-section
I had so many growth scans and mine was so so accurate, my son was 10lb 11 oz, I never had diabetes either just a big baby, c section was definitely the best choice I made🫶🏼xx
