Regular contractions?

I’m having a strong cramping sensation in my lower abdomen & tightening every 5-10 minutes. I have been timing them for an hour. When should I call the hospital? I’m 38+3

I'd phone now if you have a section booked x

@Holly I also lost my mucus plug this evening. I don’t want to call them for them to say your way to early

@Georgina do you still want your section or you going to try for a vaginal birth? I think they would only say too early if it's a vaginal but it's better they know asap for your section

Call them! I was like this, then they ramped to every 2-3mins. I was 6cm dilated by the time I got to the hospital

Call them! Sounds like you’re having a baby and the only real way to find out is by calling. Don’t be embarrassed if they say call/come back later!

@Holly @Hayley @hannah called them last night & they said everything is normal and to call when it’s unbearable 😅

@Georgina good luck 😁

Do they feel like really strong intense period pains? That’s what I’ve been having and theyre nearing unbearable but I’m not in active labour my pains are only like once every half an hour or so xx

It’s when you can’t talk through them that they’d tend to be actual contractions x

If you’re still having your c section I’d get yourself in before it’s too late. But if you’re happy to have a vbac then just monitor! Xx

If u have a planned csection go in now. For whatever reason u have a planned cection for it’s likely they’ll take u earlier if ur progressing in dilation. Happened to me ended up being an emergency cection because it was before my date that I went into labour and I was only 2cm

@Jodie they are aware I’m having an elective and have told me not to come in until the pain is unbearable ? I don’t know what to do x

@Saskia yeah! X

I’ve been getting period pain and tightenings every 7/8 minutes for the past week or so since 38 weeks. If you’re worried I’d suggest calling to go and get checked especially if you’re going for an elective c section xx

@Georgina oh really maybe they don’t have a lot of beds yet I went in at 2cm and they kept me there for 24 hours as there was too many emergency csections before me then I progressed so much that they had to take me down. I would say once your contractions are more painful then a period cramp to go. When they’re unbearable u don’t have much time left ? I would do what feels best if you are worried go down there then u know if things progress really quickly all of a sudden ur in the right place
