Hyperthyroidism 0.08 tsh

Hi all, I got diagnosed with hyper throidism, it went down from 0.1 to 0.08 now. Glad I found this group. I'm 11 weeks now, can someone who delivered with hyper thyroid tell me how was the baby's health after delivery. I read internet it says low weight, early delivery and neural development will be affected :(

My son was born at 7 pounds and he refused to come out so I finally had him at 2 weeks late. Make sure you take care of yourself take your meds and relax

Heyy! I had it when pregnant with both my babies and I wasn’t put on meds because they weren’t concerned about it. My babies were super healthy 😊 although my second was smaller and born at 37 weeks. I’m not sure if it was from me giving birth so soon 2 months pp after my first or my hyperthyroidism but he’s all good now.

I’ve had three babies with a hypothyroid. All of them were healthy. 8lbs 1oz, 8lbs 2oz and 7lbs 6oz. My youngest was smaller because she came at 38W4D

I found out my thyroid was low while pregnant, baby been fine, currently 40w/2days and she’s still stuck up in my belly not wanting to come out 😩 just wonder if my thyroid levels will return back to normal after?

I’ve got graves disease and just been told I need to start PTU, I’m 16 weeks pregnant. Has anyone been on it? I heard can cause birth defects and I’m freaking out a bit

@Paige yess. My endo put me on it as soon as I told her I was pregnant. It’s safer than the main medication you were to take. Mine took me off of ptu at 12 weeks though. She said as soon as you hit the second trimester it’s safe to take the regular medication.

@kira I haven’t been put on anything until now. I haven’t started yet I’m 16 weeks today so second trimester and they want me on PTU I’m confused though I thought it caused birth defects

@Paige yea I was worried about that too but apparently it’s safe. My babies are doing really good now and I’m 27 weeks. I’m on my regular medication methimazole now. I would message your endo to see if you won’t have to take it considering you’re in your second trimester. Endo’s like to prescribe ptu for first trimester as it’s safer for baby developing.

@Kira yeah I think I’ll do that. She phoned me yesterday to say but I was at work and didn’t really understand. I’ll try to get in touch and just say I don’t want to take until I’ve spoken to her again. I just don’t want to cause any risks to myself or the baby. Xx
