I think I’m ready to date, but where do you meet people?

I have a 12 year old and a 3 year old, and I just miss having that companionship. I moved to Ottawa 2 years now, but I haven’t explored the city because of my little one. Just been busy. But I’m ready now! Even just something casual. Hang out and eat etc. someone to talk to. Where can I meet people 35+? Dating apps don’t work for me. They say Ottawa is a village, which makes me nervous…
