Mama’s

Birth experience. Did you go natural or epidural? What was your experience? I have heard that the epidural can cause back problems and a few other things like it not working, only working on one side, pain when getting it done.

For me, when I have my son, my water broke in the middle of the night and by the time I got to the hospital that said, I was only 1 cm dilated. Since my water broke, they said that I could get the epidural which was about 30 minutes after I got to the hospital and they got me to my room. My epidural was perfect. They say that you’re supposed to have some sort of feeling in the lower part of your body and honestly I didn’t. I could feel when my contractions would start and stop but it wasn’t painful or uncomfortable. I could also feel the pressure of my baby, but it didn’t hurt and it wasn’t uncomfortable. When I have this baby in the next couple weeks, I will definitely be getting the epidural again. As a downside, I do think that my back problems came from the epidural. Specifically a herniated disc in my lower spine. Only reason I say this is because my cousin got an epidural, and she has the exact same problem and neither one of us had this before we had our kids.

For me I had a induction date set when I went in to the hospital I was only half a centimeter dilated so they put me on the pill every 4 hrs to help me dilate I took 4 doses and then the next time they checked me I was 2 centimeters dilated so they gave me piction and they broke my water I started to get bad contractions every 2-3 minutes apart and I went through them for about 2 hours and I finally decided to get the epidural I was so scared to get It cause all the comments about them but it happened all so fast it only took them 10 mins to do it and all it felt like was a little pinch after that the contractions became less and less painful and next thing I knew it I was already 9 centimeters dilated I only pushed 2 times and my baby was already out I don’t think I would have done it without the epidural it really helped me. But everybody is different

I was terrified to get one and I held off as long as incould then when they said it was now or never got it and honestly regret not getting it earlier wen through pain for no reason Once it was in I didn’t feel anything and when it came time to push they lowered the dose just enough for me to feel slight pressure so I knew when to push
