Portion sizes

I still get confused with portion sizes. Would you give half a quesadilla so basically half a wrap for your 1yo? My son has an appetite but rather than him having a whole quesadilla I would rather give him half and then give other stuff on the side? Am I doing this wrong.

That's what I would probably do for my little one, with some salad bits on the side. I find that if I put too much on his plate he chucks it anyway. If it was a veg chilli filling for example I'd just save the other half and then if he still seemed hungry offer him the other half afterwards if that makes sense.
