Reusable/Cloth nappies from birth

Has anyone used reusable or cloth nappies immediately from birth? I really want to use solely reusables. My mother-in-law didn't seem so keen on the idea but I feel like it's really important to me to try. Are they easy to get used to?

I wanted to from birth! But was in hospital for 5 days so used disposable. I had a c section so used them for about a month then switched to cloth. This time I think I will use disposable in the hospital and overnight at home then use cloth during the day once we are home. It’s very easy to get used to, to be honest. If breastfed they go straight in the wash (poo and all, it’s water soluble so just washes out). Once eating or off breastmilk you do have to put the poo in the toilet first which is the only thing I hated but wasn’t the end of the world. Then you just wash them twice, not once, first time wash alone (nappies only) second time you can add other things. I just washed every third day, it was no big deal for me and I’m not an overly organised or clean person!

We did it from birth ◡̈ never used a disposable nappy. Baby is now 14 months old! 😊 they’re super easy!!! If you have Facebook, Cloth Nappies for Beginners is a fab group x

@Risha oh thank you! I'll definitely check that group out!

@Ellen ooh that's really good to know, thank you so much!
