Colic and bottle refusal

My little girl won’t take a bottle easily. It’s always a battle. It’s making me emotional and I feel like a failure. She won’t regularly take a 4oz bottle and often takes 2/3oz a time (4hourly). She’s really bad with wind and I’m trying to do everything to help her but I don’t know how to increase her feed amounts. Any tips guys?

How old is she?xx

She’s 10w old now. Up until 6w old she was doing 5oz bottles, sometimes 6oz…. Then she was admitted into hospital as she stopped breathing and they fed her via a tube. They only gave her very small amounts (12ml per hour)…. I hoped it was something that would increase as she’s got better but sadly she won’t take anything more.

This is so hard and you are definitely not a failure at all. Babies can be very fussy and it’s impossible to make them drink when they don’t want to. For us, feeding in an upright position with MAM bottles, plus regular burping helped. Have you ruled out reflux?

You’re doing amazingly! Also I’ve found that sometimes giving a dummy then swapping it for the bottle can encourage our daughter to start drinking x

@Holly yeah we were prescribed omeprozol for reflux however since changing her to Kendamil formula she isn’t getting sick or have any spit up really. All signs of the silent reflux has gone so I’m hoping it’s just a waiting game and she’ll pick her feeds up when she’s ready. I’m sure it’s colic but I can’t help but blame the tube feeding to some degree and how little they put her on.
