Sore nipples - any tips?

We had our second baby on Tuesday and I am working to only breastfeeding for meals. My nipples are so sore, I sometimes scream from the pain of latching. No tongue or lip tie to be worried about, we saw many specialists, even hired private LC because it’s excruciating and diminishing my new mommy experience. We now pump and feed a bottle when I just can’t with the pain but baby girl is started to lose interest in the breast when we return for the next feeding. We are in a strict 3-hour cycle of nurse, pump the extra in breast ,feed extra to baby, burp and rest until the next 3-hour mark. This last week we have tried and bought so much to help heal my nipples. It’s getting emotionally draining and my toddler is mimicking me cry with her baby doll pretending to nurse in her - how sad! Any tips on how to quickly heal my nipples? Thank you.

Have you tried hydrogel patches or the silver cups? Or maybe a nipple shield when baby latches on

I use this nipple butter after every latch and every pump. It's very soothing and safe to use for BF. You don't need to worry about wiping it off before latching baby. https://a.co/d/aZ7huwO

@Kai & @Tina thank you for sharing! I got imported silver cups, hydrogel patches and cooling cups, got 4 different nipple creams including Earth Mamas, rub ice before latching, purchased multiple nursing bras, baby girl refuses the shield, and I apply milk and let it dry after nursing. My medical provider requires hoops before seeing a physician, so I literally drove to the hospital and told them I would wait for any opening. I was desperate. My OBGYN prescribed a strong anti inflammatory cream, Betamethasone .01%. It’s 1/3 of the agents in APNO compound rx. The kicker, I’ve been going back trying to understand how I got here. I BF first baby over a year, I know proper latching/nursing/oral anatomy points to watch for. Turns out in one of my teary conversations with hubby. After birth I was exhausted. I didn’t have an epidural and literally passed out after baby was born from stress on my body. Baby got hungry and dad allowed a nurse to latch baby on loopy me. Here we are. 😫🤞🏽

@Selam oh no! I'm so sorry you're going through this and I hope it gets better. I wish I had other advice on how to help but you got this mama!! 🙂

Thank you @Yaya and @Tina! Dr prescription has actually helped a lot. I’m more of a natural mama, it was hard to accept putting medication on plus it’s extra work to wash off before baby feeds. It’s helped heal my damaged skin faster and just the little progress feels relieving. Thank you for your advice!
