Number of cycles to conceive

Just looking for some reassurance really… I’ve just come on which makes that 10 unsuccessful “trying” cycles (across about 8-9 months) - I came off the mini pill in June last year and I’m just a bit deflated. I’m 28, my partner is 31 - we’re both relatively healthy. Any stories of similar which have positive endings?

Took us a year of trying with absolutely nothing happening and then we finally got pregnant. Sadly that pregnancy ended in a chemical. 2 months later and I’m now pregnant again and hoping with every fibre of my being that this little one sticks around ❤️ we were going to go to the doctors after a year for tests but after the chemical we at least knew we could get pregnant so said we’d give it a few months. When I got to your stage I was sure it was never going to happen so completely know how you feel. Hope you get your positive soon ❤️ Edited to say I’m 31 and my husband is about to turn 30 x

@Jade thank you for sharing - I’m with you on the just knowing it’s possible, that’s the bit I’m struggling with I think the most is not knowing if it’s even possible and could even happen! We’re thinking of going private to get tests for peace of mind but want to give it enough time as well because I know it can naturally take a while, it’s just hard to accept that!

I know I was looking for similar stories all the time so didn’t want to not reply! Yes that was what was really hard - wondering why it wasn’t working and seeing the negatives on tests month after month. Maybe give it until a year and then go for tests - that was certainly our big marker in the sand xx

I’ve heard from a lot of people that supplements were a game changer and they fell pregnant straight after taking them. If you’re not taking them already, would highly recommend jumping on the bandwagon so that you’ve got that covered before the year mark. I hope the next few months are kind to you! ❤️✨

Thank you @Lucy - I’m on folic acid vitamin D and my husband is on fertility supplements - maybe we should both go onto the men’s and women’s versions of the supplements - I might try that x

We started trying in April 2022, when we were both 27. After 6 months of trying we started doing fertility testing and our consultant deciding in July 2023 that we would start IVF in December 2023. In September 2023 after 1.5 years of trying and 19 cycles without a single indent or “could it be?” we got a positive on a test. I’m currently typing this at 3:30am due to the heartburn that comes with being 33 weeks pregnant with that miracle baby. We tried everything, seed cycling, hundred of pounds on Pregnacare, Clomid to make my ovulation as strong as possible, nothing worked. When we were given our IVF start date we just gave up, focused on our health, ditched the Pregnacare and switched to Proceive to try and ensure our bodies were in the perfect place for IVF. Best decision we ever made! As a side note, reviews of Proceive raved about how people never got passed their third box, we were a week into box no. 3 when we found out we were pregnant!
