Single mamas out with small kids

For the mamas that have little ones and you’re out by yourself… in a outdoor public place like a park or something where you would want your kid to run lose and have fun..how close do you keep your kid or do you let them run ? Are you at all worried about someone swiping them? I’m torn between not wanting to hold kid back and explore ( not put my worry into kid) but still thinking about snatchers. How do you handle the situation?

I always keep my child close , once at the park I usually always follow him around . I don’t never let him run lose in the store .

I’m a hover mom, for better or for worse.

I’m always by myself (single married mom) when out in stores or mall busier places always in a stroller so no running. But parks or play spaces I follow her around or if it’s smaller I sit and watch. It’s definitely hard because my child has no fear which scares me but it’s not a bad things for her

Oh, I'm practically always right on top of him if it's somewhere busy, but if there's no one else around, I let him get up to 20 feet away

@Tiara i usually am a follower too but for some reason this particular time couldn’t decide if I should hold hands or let him be free as i follow. it was so many people out

@Natalie I love that you own it! you’re so right, ALWAYS safety first mama.

@Emilie I have to re-learn to travel with our stroller. This may help ease my mind. MY kid is definitely a free for all kid as well.. i share your pain. It’s good but horrible in other ways. Do you like your stroller? I have a bulky one - but it’s perfect for naps when out as it lays all the way back but a hassle to hale in and out of the car 80 times a day.

@Valerie ok same! i don’t feel as bad.

Yes I used to use the travel system stroller but that was getting bulky so I found a slim easy to fold one. It’s a little bigger then a umbrella stroller because it still have a basket underneath.
