Have you been on the Gestational Diabetes UK website? Loads of recipes. I’m just making changes to what I normally eat. E.g. if I had a bolognese I would have wholewheat pasta, rather than white pasta, and have about a third of my plate be pasta and the rest the bolognese.

It’s really really tough though. Everywhere I turn there are carbs and sugary treats. 🥺

Salmon parcels. Wrap a bit of salmon (or any fish) in tin foil with teaspoon of light soy, few drops of sesame oil, handful of spinach and a couple of slices of ginger. Put in oven for 15 mins. High protein and fibre meal, perfect for diabetics x

Steam some more veg to serve x

@Alex super super hard 😭 even worse when you work in an office and surrounded by it haha

@Becky the day after I got my diagnosis, I walked into my office and someone had dumped a load of M&S treats on the desk next to mine. Had a whole day of watching people walk over and snack on lovely things I couldn’t have. Ended up asking if they could be moved. 😢😢😢

Omelettes with veggies and One slice of brown toast

Lettuce wraps with some chicken, boiled eggs as snacks, hummus with some carrots and cucumber sticks, cheese slices too just not too many. Apples slices with peanut butter I got recommended that by my dietician. Any grilled food is good too, so if you grill some vegetables with some protein on a side and quatre of your plate is carbs. And avoid any fruit or fizzy juices they contain a hell loads of sugars. Sugar free plain yogurt with some berries or nuts is yummy too. Falafels in salads or wraps, or just as a snack. I got diagnosed as well with diabetes and had to change my diet 360 turn. You just got to remember your doing this so your little one inside you is healthy and you are happy too ☺️ Good luck hun
