Extreme meltdowns / night terrors

My 18 month old had a complete and utter meltdown down the other day- this didn’t seem like a normal tantrum to me. She was throwing herself on the floor, screaming until her voice was hoarse, arching her back almost as if she was in pain, not accepting any milk or dummies it was actually quite scary 😟 it was only after an hour when I managed to get her outside she finally calmed down. Anyway luckily nothing like this has happened again since until now, we are away at the moment and she is teething quite badly. She’s just awoken from her sleep and done the exact same thing again, and after an hour she has only just calmed down. I’m concerned but I’m nervous if I go to doctor they will put it down to teething or just a normal toddler overacting. Has anyone else had what seem like extreme meltdowns? It’s hard as I haven’t got access to my GP at the moment as we are out of the country for another month or so

My little one isn’t teething as far as I know but he seems to be having major meltdowns at the moment, over nothing! The other day it was a whole 30 minute car journey he screamed, if we talked to him it made it worse. My little boy can be mardy at times but recently he’s just crying/ screaming over everything and anything, he will just run around the living room screaming throwing himself on the floor putting his face into pillows crying hysterically. I’m hoping it’s just a ‘phase’ xx

Yes ! We had this exact same thing which lasted around 4 days - she was inconsolable at night time or waking from naps - to the point I also panicked thinking something was wrong and also had to take her outside to calm down as she wasn’t responding to my voice and wouldn’t accept anything that would usually console her . Also teething ! I was thinking night terrors etc but it just stopped and fingers crossed we haven’t had it since ! Hopefully it’s the same and just a short phase due to teething / regression xx

Mine started the other week if we tell him no and last night he done it at bed time (took 4/5hours to get him to sleep) tonight I've realised it is down to not wanting to miss out on anything (he has a older brother that stays up an extra hour to him so his brother gets alone time with me ans his dad) he gets time with us while brother is at school He was getting to a point he was purposely hurting himself just so he got all the attention
