Colostrum harvesting

I had this issue try a manual pump then the bottle bit put syringe to the bottom of bottle to suck up I didn’t get anything from hand expressing but got 14.5ml first first with a manual pump x

I collect in a small tub then syringe it out when I’m done

Hand express onto a spoon and then suck it up from the spoon with the syringe x

@kelly I haven’t got a pump yet. However I’m getting plenty coming out just cannot seem to do the sucking up from the nipple. @Sarah good idea with the tea spoon, ill give it a go! Out of interest, once I start will I need to do it everyday?

Collect it on a teaspoon and suck it from that - it worked a treat when I was pregnant with my first x

I just got my partner to syringe it from the nipple and worked so well for us x

Is it going into the syringe? I had to google how to get rid of air bubbles it’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I’ve only had tiny drops coming out but still managed to get it in the syringe

Try expressing in to the top of the string so your not sucking it up it’s dripping in to the syringe then a the pusher bit after

If it's runny, then express into a cup and then suck it into syringes. Most colostrum is thick and sticky so it stays on the nipple and waits to be sucked up, but some people have more watery consistency and it runs away 🤣 so that's when you need a spoon, cup, container of some sort x
