Speech delay

Anyone on her with little ones with a speech delay? My daughters just turned 3 and she can say lots of words, she can put 2-3 words together but not full sentences and at nursery (which she doesn’t like) she will just take someone’s hand and show them what she wants rather than speak to them. They have told me today that they were like to refer her to a specialist as she also doesn’t socialise with other children. I’ve just put it down to being a first time mum, Covid baby, no friends myself🥲 or just any socialisation she has had has ended up her being injured by someone throwing something at her etc. I just don’t know what to do, is there anything I can do at home to help her?

She’s 3. She’s new to the setting and away from mommy who can mind read everything she needs. It will come with time don’t panic. She’s learning to be independent and shows you’re a fantastic mommy x

@Shannon thank you Shannon😢 I’ve not done anything but cry all day. Shes been there nearly 7 months now and goes 2 half days a week. I would put her in for full days but she also won’t eat unless she’s in her safe place which is home. I think I’ve just really spoilt her as I really didn’t think I would be so besotted with her

My daughter is 3 too and exactly the same, my nephew was a lot more forward but hearts my heart to compare. They’re all perfect in their own ways and they will get there x

I paid for meals for her and she refused them because they were crazy meals so they left her without which really upset me so now she goes with a lunch box plus paid meals. I feel you x

@Shannon nice to speak to someone with the same problems! Makes me feel not so alone, sometimes I wish I could turn back time and try again and see if I could do think differently x
