What would you do?

My dog has polymyopathy , it’s a muscle condition. She’s almost 4 years old and moves like a very old dog with arthritis . Her whole body is affected by it and she is very stiff all the time . She used to take medication that had helped her a ton! She was so different and would move around and play and run. It slowly started to wear off and they wouldn’t give me a higher dose due to hers already being high . She just lays around , hardly moves, can barely eat her food without choking or throwing up, throws up all over the place randomly , never looks happy . She always looks uncomfortable and possibly in pain. She also will refuse to go to the bathroom at times , more so lately she doesn’t want to go out . I believe as she got older her condition got worse , we originally found out when she was still a puppy and the vet said he didn’t think it would shorten her life or that she was in pain. Well I don’t think that’s accurate anymore . This dog can not live 5-10 more years like this . I don’t want to prolong her suffering and I feel it may be time to consider putting her down . I don’t want to do so till a vet says that’s what should happen. I don’t have the money to spend on more meds if there is anything else out there , and I don’t have the money at this time to even see a vet . I feel horrible about it it and I don’t know what else to do . She hardly wags her tail anymore and never wants to play. She used to play with my brothers dog when they first met last summer but she had stopped doing so shortly after . I think she knows she can’t keep up and it bothers her and she may very be uncomfortable during it as well. She became snappy with his dog as well . I think her fast moments made my dog anxious . I can never find anyone who’s been through this with their dog and not much is online about it . The only other thing I can think of is trying cbd for dogs .

You could try something like a gofundme to help get her a vet appointment. It's so hard to know the right time ❤️

Poor girl, I am sorry she and your family is going through this. I would try the cbd and anything else that you can do. I had a bunny that became paralyzed in her senior years and we had to make the hard decision to let her go and cross the rainbow bridge. It was heartbreaking but the best choice for her, she was miserable. I wish you all the best. 🌻

😢😢😢 Prayers

I’d probably get a dog stroller if the dog is not too big and try to give her a great time even with her condition

If it's possible in your area, you can try physical therapy for dogs. I live in Chicago and I was able to do it for my dog. But it definitely can be expensive. I would try to find a specialist and then go from there. I know this is a rough time 😢

I had a chihuahua that was nearly 18 in human years. I lost her back in September 2023. She was on prescription dog food, blind, arthritic, enlarged heart. While its so burdensome to imagine living without our fur babies. It was definitely my girls time. When you know, you'll know.
