@Christine I’m not sure honestly I’ve never had to do one with my kids and I’m reading out
Yes and its not as invasive as it might sound! They have them swallow a little barium which is non-toxic and passes right through their digestive system without being absorbed (poops may be white for a few days!) Then they do an xray to watch the barium go through the GI tract! With my boy they used straps to secure him to a table to flip him around to get the pictures and he didn't mind! Im not sure if they'd do this for your baby though, his study was a little different because the barium was given through his NG tube, but it was also to test his stomach emptying and whatnot
Its really quick like 30 minutes
@Tay okay, thank you so much! That helps so much!
May I ask what a swallow test is? I have a 4 month old and she would basically spit up most of her milk the first few months but it’s gradually gotten better. I’ve found that burping her multiple times during feedings helps a lot. My breasts were also regulating milk for her so it took a while for them to finally adapt for her feedings. But that’s if you breastfeed
