Advice please!

My nephew has dealt with this before when it comes to ranch. His mom just gives him a bath right after to try and wash off as much ranch as possible.

@Leilani that’s what the doctor told me to do! I gave her a bath and it went away.. but she’s had ranch several times before and this has never happened. But it has happened with strawberry frosting

i’m not a dr but my daughter is allergic to several things and it looks like that could be an allergic reaction. my first guess would be the ranch because dairy seems to be the most common. if she wasn’t itchy and it went away on its own without medicine then i’d try removing dairy from her diet and seeing if it happens again. you can reintroduce after a few months!

@Briana ok. I wish I could be more help. When it comes to my nephew, he only gets this way with McDonald’s ranch. Any other type of ranch and he is completely fine. We’re not fully sure what causes it in the McDonald’s Ranch but that’s the only time he ever gets like that. So we try to avoid that.

@Taylor she drinks whole milk and does just fine same with yogurt and other dairy products.. so would it still be a dairy issue?

@Briana some people react to some things and not others. it could also just be a sensitivity like you mentioned, you could try ranch again and immediately wipe her face & hands (if you aren’t already) & see if it happens again

@Taylor okay thank you!! I’m hoping it’s just a sensitivity thing because it would suck for her to be allergic it’s her favorite sauce lol

My first son did the exact same thing, it’s the ranch. We just always had to wipe it off right away when he was eating it and he was fine. If it’s just McDonald’s ranch like you mentioned avoid that and stick to store bought.

@Kayla it’s hidden valley ranch she’s having this with and it’s so weird! She’s had it several times before and I jus I worry so much :( she now has to go to an allergist for it

We have to be careful with ranch for my little guy. He is allergic to garlic. The allergist said we don’t have a to eliminate it but I can tell certain things bother him more than others. Or if he has too many things with garlic at the same meal.

It definitely looks like an allergy. Does she eat eggs? The reason I ask is bc ranch definitely has it in it and the popcorn chicken could to in the breading. However, my niece gets something similar and she isn’t allergic to egg but it’s when she eats certain types of ranch like others have mentioned she gets a reaction.

@Randa she does eat eggs and it might be the ranch but she’s had it before and it’s never bothered her til now
