Toddler acting silly when getting ready

Have you allowed choices and independence? My son will throw tantrums and run away if he doesn't have any control. But too many choices are overwhelming. I allow him to choose from 2 outfits, 2 pairs of shoes, I let him brush his hair and teeth, choose some toys to bring out so he feels in control. I also set a visual timer for 5 mins before we start getting ready to go so he has a transition period and a 10 mins timer to try beat to get ready to leave the house
My lo does this a bit too, like lying down when I'm trying to dress her etc. I think she's just trying to play with me/get attention so I've been trying to do that while getting her ready. I can be quite functional I guess so I think she's just trying to engage with me before she goes to nursery... It's usually nursery days she does this when I'm in more of a rush.

My LO has flipped a switch and having melt downs all the time. I put it down to the terrible twos ☠️ Try not to shout and ignore them as any attention at all they love.
