How long after revision did it take to learn to breastfeed?

My baby girl is two weeks old. We have never been able to breastfeed because of a severe lip and posterior tongue tie. Now that she’s had the revision I would love to breastfeed her instead of pump. I’ve seen a lactation consultant and will continue to see one I just wanted to know if anyone had a similar experience and if so how long before your little would breastfeed? And what all did you have to try to get them there?

Hi! My daughter had a tongue tie, after the revision, it took about id say 2 to 3 weeks to be perfect, I saw some improvement right away but they have to learn to do the movements by themselves. What made a huge difference was seeing a speech therapist (that was also a lactation consultant). She helped my daughter doing some exercises that showed her how to use the tongue and stop doing some “defensive movements” she had from the tongue tie… Hope it helps! Ah, for hope: she is almost 9mo and exclusively breastfeeding

@Rita what kind of exercises did you do? X

Not me, it was the therapist, we went there I think 4 times! At home me had to check if the tongue was against the palate. If not we would rub a bit the place under the chin, a can show a picture of the place! The rest was her, she would see the movements she needed to practice

I'm in the opposite boat. My girl wouldn't take a bottle. It's been 6 days and she just started to take a bottle every now and then but definitely has difficulty. My dentist said it could take a couple weeks before she learns control of her mouth
